About Us

Over half a million children in the United States are placed in the foster care system because their home environments were deemed unsafe. These children may have suffered abuse, neglect, or other mistreatment - often due to parental substance abuse. While their parents undergo services to address the problems in the home, these children are removed from the situation and placed in the foster care system. Once in the system, the court must determine whether the children can be reunited with their families or whether they need a different plan for their lives, such as adoption or guardianship.
Children in this situation are often scared, confused, sad, lonely, and overwhelmed. That’s when a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is needed.
