Welcome Yasemin Simsek!

This week CASA welcomed Yasemin Simsek to the CASA staff as our Program Assistant! Recently evacuated from the Peace Corp in Morocco due to COVID-19, she is looking forward to doing work that helps kids in her own community. She is a graduate of Arcadia University with two Bachelor's degrees: International Studies and Fine Arts.

Coming from a culturally diverse background, she has always had an interest in getting to know people that were different from herself and learning about their experiences. She became proficient in three languages: Turkish, Spanish, and Arabic, and has a basic working knowledge of three others. Yasemin believes that communication is key to building any bridge in understanding. She previously tutored refugee students and shared that, “I strongly align myself with the belief that all kids are deserving of safety and security in order to enjoy their childhood.”

In her free time, she likes to knit, cook, draw, and dance! She is glad to be back home and reunited with her two cats named Oreo and Bear. Welcome, Yasemin!
