EVERY CHILD DESERVES A CELEBRATION!
While most children look forward to their birthdays, a child in care may experience a range of emotions when they turn a year older.
Over the summer months, roughly 50 of the children we serve here at CASA will celebrate a birthday.
Please help us make these children feel special!
JOIN US APRIL 27th, 9am TO NOON
As we assemble Birthday Boxes, write cards, and make birthday crowns for our youth. 117 Gayley Street, Media, PA. Feel free to drop by at any time between 9am-12pm and stay as long as you like. Young volunteers are more than welcome at our event so feel free to bring your children, please make note of the number of people in your party in the comments section of the sign- up genius.
CASA embraces opportunities to support children in care and their families and promote normalcy. Birthday Boxes help youth in care celebrate their birthdays where they live, whether that is in their own home, relative’s home, foster home, group home, or residential treatment center.
These specially made boxes are stocked with everything needed for a fun party, including decorations, paper goods, candles, and a cake mix with tub of frosting. When a child has a birthday, the Advocate brings the box (along with a birthday gift) to the child. The child has the option of baking the cake with the Advocate or their caregiver.
Advocates can pick up the ready-to-go Birthday Boxes at the CASA office.
